Meet Our CommitteeThe General Committee of Gram Bikash Kendra (GBK) is an inclusive and representative body, ensuring the voices of ethnic groups, development workers, and professionals are heard. Established in 1993 by a group of socially committed youths, GBK’s General Committee plays a pivotal role in guiding the organization’s mission for sustainable development and social change in northwest Bangladesh.
The committee is responsible for major governance functions, including policy approval, oversight, and ensuring accountability, with a focus on empowering marginalized groups such as women, children, indigenous people, Dalits, and marginal farmers. Our experienced team provides technical, social, and motivational support to rural communities, helping them improve their lives and livelihoods.
Approves the audit report of the last financial year, annual report, and income-expenditure account (budget) submitted by the executive board.
Formulates and approves all necessary policies, program implementation guidelines, and rules related to finance, accounting, and human resources.
Exercises voting rights in elections through the Executive Board, ensuring democratic governance.
Amends any article or sub-section of the constitution as necessary to meet organizational needs.
Makes final decisions on any member's appeal as presented by the Executive Board.
Appoints audit firms listed by MRA/NGO Bureau/Government to conduct regular or annual audits of the organization.
