About the General Committee

The General Committee of Gram Bikash Kendra (GBK) is an inclusive and representative body, ensuring the voices of ethnic groups, development workers, and professionals are heard. Established in 1993 by a group of socially committed youths, GBK’s General Committee plays a pivotal role in guiding the organization’s mission for sustainable development and social change in northwest Bangladesh.

The committee is responsible for major governance functions, including policy approval, oversight, and ensuring accountability, with a focus on empowering marginalized groups such as women, children, indigenous people, Dalits, and marginal farmers. Our experienced team provides technical, social, and motivational support to rural communities, helping them improve their lives and livelihoods.
